Tom Feldmann drives a 1978 Volkswagen Bus, plays a steel-bodied National Reso-Phonic guitar, hollers the blues and is attracting a lot of attention in the acoustic world from people like veteran roots-bluesman ÒCatfishÓ Keith who said, ÒYou donÕt hear many great young musicians playing and singing in the old blues style, but Tom is definitely an exception.ÓTom was born and delivered at home by his father on May 25, 1978. His father, a car dealer, worked while his mother stayed home and cared for him and his three older brothers.Causing trouble, getting into accidents and struggling through school took up most of TomÕs time throughout his adolescence and when it was finally time to graduate he left school never to look back.Teaching himself to play the guitar at the age of 17, from the music of such legendary bluesmen: Bukka White, LightninÕ Hopkins, Mississippi John Hurt, Fred McDowell and many other delta area musicians, he began to perform at local bars, saloons and nightclubs by the age of 18.Tom has since performed at folk/blues venues and festivals in over 42 states this past year and was also lead/slide guitarist with a national hillbilly/honky-beat blues trio in 1999/2000. He is currently sponsored by DÕAddario Guitar Strings, continually tours as a solo artist throughout the U.S. and Canada and will be touring with folk/blues legend Roy Book Binder in the spring of 2001.Telling tales of strange encounters, long bar room nights and life on the road, Tom Feldmann delivers one hell of a show. Whether you catch him performing at folk/blues venues, festivals or the occasional street corner, you will be treated to some of the finest slide and finger-style country blues guitar around.Tom Feldmann sings and plays with the fierceness of the legends that he learned from, and although he may be young, when you see him perform youÕll see a show like youÕve never seen before.
